And so #CF2013 ended last weekend. Thank you to the committee of Comic Fiesta for offering me the official blogger pass again this year. This year marks the 5th year that I have been to CF and the 4th year that I have been an official blogger.
CF as usual was filled with cosplayers and booths to the brim!!! This year, I heard that the number of visitors was over 9000!!! (lame dragonball joke) and it became over 30,000 visitors! I am surprised that the venue did not collapse from the sheer number of people going through it.
I enjoyed myself those two days however due to the fact that I wasn't feeling too well, I spent most of my time resting in the Pokemon XY tournament room while WH collected streetpass on his Nintendo 3DS.
As usual, I will list down the pros and cons of the events.
Pros
Super love the new ticketing area this year!!! Very well organized and super duper cold and cooling.
Love the fact that food and drinks were available in the ticketing area and in the halls so that people no need to keep going out to get hydrated or fill themselves up when they feel peckish.
Love how the booths were organized this year. Get to explore more things and kept discovering new stuff.
Love that MDEC sponsored some booths this year. Discovered a great game development company called Wigu Games and played their upcoming game, "Doctor Life" which was super duper fun!!!
Super love that volunteers are always so polite and courteous at doing their job and try to help you out the best they can.
Love how the event planning was organized so the stage always seemed busy and happening.
Cons
I do not know if it was just me but on day 1,i felt the ventilation in the ticketing area and the halls was pretty bad that i became quite dizzy and had to rest after lunch in the pokemon room.
Volunteers tried their best to help but it seems like there was no sync in information communication sometimes. Encountered problems trying to get my pass.
Booths were organized nicely but a bit too close to each other that it is a little hard to walk sometimes.
Those are a few of my comments. Comment below if you have any others.
Now on to the photos!!!!

Well, I can't wait till #CF2014! Hope it comes soon!!!!
I have been listening to the new Fall Out Boy album streaming on Youtube and it got me thinking about high school.Whenever i listen to Avril Lavigne,Skye Sweetnam,Paramore,Fall Out Boy,Good Charlotte,Blink-182,Linkin Park,Panic! At The Disco just to name a few,i think about high school. These were the bands that defined my high school years.
Took this during my high school graduation (i was so much skinnier :p)
It doesn't help that i had dreams lately of certain people significant during my high school years and i have been catching up with one of them, let's just call him KZ. Funnily enough,KZ and me actually did not meet in high school,we met when we were both in primary school but we never really got close until high school as he is three years older than me.
Yes, this was how i looked like at 17...
But one thing about KZ is that no matter how long we have not talked to each other, whenever he picks up the phone or calls me back,he just goes "hey, how's it going?" as though we just spoke yesterday or the day before. There's no such thing as awkward silences between us somehow which is ironic considering i actually had the biggest crush on him when i was 13 but he being him let me down nicely and somehow over the years,we just managed to maintain this odd yet comfortable friendship.
Yes i was the rebel,i tried burning stuff with the Bunsen burner and got my friend to take pictures of me with my cellphone and i did not tie my hair up although i had been asked to do so a lot of times by many prefects
I spoke to him couple of days back after not calling him for like almost 3 years? (yes,i know i'm not a very good friend) and i thought it would be like totally awkward however he just made it so easy to talk and spill everything to him.
I'm sure some of you do wonder if WH is comfortable with all this going on,let's just say he's not super comfortable but we kind of agreed to compromise in the sense that i will meet KZ with him and he gets to know KZ and hopefully find that KZ is a pretty ok guy.
Evidence of me sleeping in class
The thing is that i hope it won't be awkward as i have not seen KZ at all for like 8-9 years now (we just didn't seem to meet up after he left high school,we talked over the phone and stuff and kept saying we should meet up but somehow,i don't know why,we never seem to actually meet)
Yes,i did not even secretly take pictures with my cellphone,i was openly doing it :P
Anyways, let's get back to the topic at hand, high school.I was most awkward during my high school years (not to say i'm not still awkward now) I had crushes all the time and one of them was on like the most popular cute guy who had a posse of his own which i got bullied from,i even had them spitting ice at me before, teasing me from three floors above among other stuff they did...needless to say,not memories i like to remember.
Yes,i even camwhored in class
I was the rebel,i got into fights (yes,i punched some dude and i got one back on my face),i picked fights with the seniors,i slept in class and ate in class like nobody's business.I even skipped classes by hiding in my junior's class. The only skipping i never did was actually to climb the wall and jump out of school although i was tempted to do so :P
I even brought illegal items to school like mp3 player and my cell phone.I was lucky to have the thin Motorola phone that i could hide in my shoe however it got confiscated once and i had to ask my mum to lie to the school and get it back for me...those were the days in high school.
Come to think of it,i have always been a rebel even in primary school.I actually went and chased after seniors who were like standard 5 or 6 when i was in standard 3 if they teased my girls and i actually threatened to beat them up.imagine a pint sized little girl threatening the seniors which are guys.If i'm not mistaken, that was actually how KZ got to know me cause i remember him coming up to me when i was waiting for my mum and asked if i was that tiny little girl who he heard about going after the seniors and threatening them.
I was the rebel to wear my checkered Vans shoes to a school outing with my school uniform and even camwhored in the bathroom and made others wait for me :P
That's a funny memory actually,i do wonder if he remembers that.Well,i guess i'm still a little like that.I can never stand it if people trash my friends and i would stand up to them no matter how small size i am compared to those people.
And here i am going off topic again but that is also like me during high school,i can never stay focused in class,i was always daydreaming or writing stories and fanfictions or better yet,i was sleeping @-@ Needless to say,i wasn't exactly the teacher's pet except the English teachers.
Once in awhile,i do miss high school. It felt complicated when i was going through it but right now compared to everything else,it was my most memorable years.Of course,it doesn't help that whenever i talk to KZ or any of the boys i knew during my high school years,i feel that age again. That innocence, that rebelling person.
KZ makes me feel like i'm 13 again and admiring him for being more mature and knowing just how to advice me and Ryo makes me feel like i'm 16-17 again and hanging out with him in his class and not getting caught for cutting class since teachers will not bother looking for me in a junior's class.Whenever i do somehow think about Shawn Yue,i feel 16 and feel that heartbreak all over again (it's a too long story that i do not wish to expand but i confessed to him,he said ok then later he took it back, well i felt like he ripped my heart out and let's just say his name filled a lot of pages in my journal back then)
I do miss high school and even though i'm going to turn 23 next month,i never feel much older actually and quoting Avril Lavigne, here's to never growing up
now is time for my annual review of Comic Fiesta. I have to admit, there is nothing much i can say about it this year as this year, everything ran quite smoothly and i was satisfied but as usual,i will do my pros and cons lists.
me & Freddie Mercury cosplayer
me & Dato Jimmy Choo, Danny Choo's father
From L-R, Ironman cosplayer, Dato Jimmy Choo, Danny Choo & Captain America
Me with Naked Sim
Me with awesome Domokun!!!
Pros
Nice hall lighting, ample space to walk, super awesome amount of doujin booths and prices for items were much cheaper compared to last year's Comic Fiesta or even this year's AFA MY. The air con was good for cooling people and enough place for people to rest at the sides if they get tired. The line up system was much better as well this year.
super adorable Neko Tenshi
awesome Ironman
awesome artwork i got
i met Danny Choo
me & The Flash
awesome Nyan Cat cookie
awesome Totoro cookie
me and awesome clown plus balloonist Mac Roy Roy
Mac Roy Roy made me a flower bracelet
super amazing Danboard cosplay
Cons
I did notice a significant drop in awesome cosplays, before anybody stones me for saying this,i have to admit that most cosplays seem similar and have come to a point that i say 'oh,seen that before' but i do admit the Danboard and Domokun cosplayer plus the Kirito cosplayer with awesome sword and the Freddie Mercury cosplay really caught my eye.
Another con is the lack of schedules or any information in physical form for media people. Me & WH did not get a press kit or even a Comic Fiesta booklet when we got our passes. No one seems to know if we were supposed to even get a press kit or not and i had to borrow the booklet from one of our friends to see the schedule or rely on my email to see schedules for press conference etc.
I notice the sound system this year seemed to have dropped or maybe because its a bigger venue this year hence the drop in the sound system.
me with super cute Rilakuma
All in all, As i said, CF was much better this year that i have nothing much to complain so yeah, until next year's Comic Fiesta, this is my post and happy new year to everyone :)

my day 2 shopping
freebies i got from Animax
thank you to Comic Fiesta & Dustyhawk for the media passes :)

For Comic Fiesta 2012 this year,we are doing something real special which is secret santa! In the spirit of Christmas, Comic Fiesta has decided to organize a lil secret santa treat.
This
activity is a three parter, and is open to anyone that attends the
event. This means EVERYONE - be you a booth owner, vendor, sponsor,
casual attendee, or die-hard member of the ACG community - can take
part.
Part 1 - THE SECRET STASH-
A "present pool" will be made open throughout the day for everyone to
chip in. Submit your presents at the CF Information Counter!
Part 2 - LETTERS TO SANTA-
Throughout the day, our "Santarinas/Santarinos" will be at the
Information Counter and the CF Coffytiam to collect your letters!
Part 3 - THE CF STAGE SANTAS-
Our Stage Santa will then pair up your wishes with presents in the
Secret Stash and give the lucky wish-makers a chance to win these prizes
through simple stage games!
To
know more about this activity in detail, the rules and regulations are
available below! We look forward to seeing you at Comic Fiesta 2012!
RULES AND REGULATIONS
THE SECRET STASH
1. Submission to the "present pool" (hereby referred to as "the pool") is entirely optional. There is NO obligation.
2.
Anyone can contribute to the pool. This includes (but not limited to)
vendors, sponsors, doujin-kas, event attendees or even random generous
passersby. 3.
Submissions to the pool will be grouped and labeled according to their
contributors (henceforth referred to as “Secret Santas") to be announced
during and/or after the aforementioned stage games. However, the
identities of Secret Santas can be made anonymous upon request. 4.
There is no upper or lower limit to the contributions any Secret Santa
can make, however Comic Fiesta reserves the right to turn down any
contributions to the pool that we may deem inappropriate. 5.
Due to limitation of slots, a contribution to the pool will not
guarantee stage time. However, Comic Fiesta will ensure that ALL
contributions to the pool will be given out our attendee(s) by the end
of the event.
LETTERS TO SANTA
1.
Small slips of papers marked with the official Comic Fiesta chop will
be provided when you request them at the CF Information Counter or the
CF Coffytiam.
2.
Attendees are required to fill up their letters with their names and a
wish of their liking, and insert it into the jolly red socks carried by
our Santarina/Santarinos at the Info Counter or Coffytiam. 3.
Kindly make sure that all your Letters are filled in clearly and are
inserted properly into a jolly red sock. Letters not filled in properly
and/or put into a jolly red sock will not be considered. 4.
Letters to Santa are exchangeable, and multiple entries from one person
are acceptable. So asking your friend for his/hers is perfectly fine.
(Just don’t steal~ >D) 5.
Replies to Letters are subjected to the availability of prizes within
the pool. Comic Fiesta will do its best to match up the prizes to the
Letters submitted but cannot, and will not, guarantee recipients will
get EXACTLY what they want. 6.
Like any mail to Santa, Letters put into jolly red socks do not
guarantee a response. Eager attendees are encouraged to increase their
chances by making their Letters as specific and/or as interesting as
possible to catch the eyes of our CF Stage Santas.
CF STAGE SANTAS
1.
Throughout the day, our CF Stage Santas will call up lucky wish-makers
who have inserted their Letters into our jolly red socks up on stage for
a simple stage game. These games will (generally) involve the lucky
wish-makers interacting with their Secret Santas.
2.
Should a wish-makers not respond when called (for whatever the reason),
the chance will then be made open to the public. Remember! Santa
doesn’t like a whiner, and our CF Secret Santas aren’t that different. 3. Presents given are not exchangeable.
So try your luck and hope you get something good :) i know what i want :)
