I never thought that i would ever have to blog about this so soon as i thought that i have many more years to spend with him.Wookie's gone.Wookie, the lovable baby in my family. The clown of my family. The crazy lil quirky shih tzu that me and my family have come to love and still do.6 years ago still feels like yesterday.I remember when i could hold him with two palms in my hands and i remember when he got too fat to even try to get his ball which he affectionately regarded as his friend from underneath the couch and he usually bullied me or daddy to get it for him.
He came into our lives suddenly 6 years ago when mummy decided to hold him at the pet shop and fell in love with him and just the same way he came into our lives,he suddenly left our lives as well.Wookie have never been an extremely healthy dog so visits to the vets became very routine to us but i guess in some way, deep down inside of me,i must have known something although i wasn't sure because his visit to the animal hospital felt very different and i was more worried than usual.I even broke down and cried in a mall as WH was holding me and letting me release all i feel inside.I remember i kept sobbing that i wanted my baby home asap. That sunday morning was the last time i ever saw him alive. My parents took him to the hospital.I had classes on monday so i couldn't go visit him.Mummy told me that he would have to go through a surgery on tuesday afternoon but early tuesday morning,he passed away.
none of us knew till mummy went to the hospital on tuesday morning as she wanted to accompany him before the surgery.i was in class but when i felt my phone vibrate and i saw that it was mummy calling me,i knew deep down that it was bad news.My parents brought Wookie home and we burried him in the garden.WH held me the whole afternoon and let me cried as much as i wanted. He even took me out to distract my mind but to be honest,i'm still dealing with my feelings.I even googled on how to deal with my grief but nothing helps as everything i read said that i just have to go through it and just deal with the motions.
I will admit as i type this post,i am crying.I really really miss Wookie.I might not have spoken a lot about him on my blog but i really did and still love him.The house feels so empty now.some people might say he's just a dog but to me and my family,he was our baby and part of our family.Even the neighborhood fat cats miss him.On the day that we burried him, they meowed really loudly and they never usually do that unless other dogs are bullying them.they seemed to know what was going on as they usually visit our house everyday but when Wookie was in the hospital, they never came.I guess they miss him as much as us because one of them was sitting in front of our house gate when we came home this evening.
The house just feels so quiet right now without him.I'm used to his barking when WH sends me home and accompanies me in.I'm used to waking up from my evening naps and feeding him.I'm used to coming home from uni and he is rushing me to feed him dinner. It just feels so odd to not have to rush home and it feels so odd to have the house so quiet.
Grief. Its a funny thing.some people say it does get better and i hope it does but honestly at this point in time,i'm still dealing with it.Wookie,i miss you so much.i hope you are having fun in heaven biting on domokuns (he loved trying to get my domokun plushies to chew on them & i burried the first ever domokun keychain i bought with him) and bullying fat cats (the fat cats in my neighbourhood loved teasing him) and getting loads of snacks.we all miss you and love you very much.
