As most people who goes to Comic Fiesta knows,ever since 2008 we have a portfolio session whereby we bring in experts from the industry to come and give a talk and share about their experiences to aspiring artistes.This year we are very fortunate to have Phil Ortiz & Phil Yeh among other industry experts such as Micheal Chuah aka C2V,Jack Lim (Ah Beng) and the guys from Codemasters.

CODEMASTERS
Codemasters is an award-winning independent British game development studio that has created critically-acclaimed video games since their inception in 1986. Codemasters Studio Sdn Bhd, their Malaysian branch, has worked on such acclaimed titles as Race Driver: GRID and F1 2010.


Experts from Codemasters will be holding industry talks on both days, covering the basics of computer animation and the game development industry in general. On day One of Comic Fiesta, Ivon Smith (Technical Art Trainer) will be talking about “Recruitment, Training and In-House 3D Training at Codemasters KL”, while Kelvin Hii (Artist) will be talking about “How and Why You Should Be A Game Developer”.

On day 2, Adam Harvey Batham (Senior Games Animator/Group Lead) will be talking about the intricate details of in-game character motion capture through his presentation “In-Game Character Motion Capture: from Actor to 3D Animation”.
MICHAEL CHUAH (a.k.a C2V) and JACK LIM (Ah Beng)


Michael Chuah (also known as C2V) is one of Malaysia's most well-known comic book artists and character designers. His comic series Gengkey first premiered in Gempak in 2002, and ran for 6 years in the magazine. One of the co-founders of Gilamon Studio, he has released a series of graphic novels, posters, T-shirts and other related merchandise.
Micheal Chuah will share his 10 years of experience working in the Malaysian creative industry with the audience of Comic Fiesta. He will also be talking about the process of creating his latest comic series entitled "Ah Beng", together with the popular DJ of My FM, Jack Lim (Ah Beng).

MEET PHIL YEH & PHIL ORTIZ
Phil Yeh

Phil Yeh created one of the first American graphic novels in 1977 which led him to be known as theGodfather of the American Graphic Novel. Yeh has written and illustrated over 80 books for the past 15 years. His well-known works include Dinosaurs across America (named by the School Library Journal as one of the best) and the bestselling The Winged Tiger and the Lace Princess.
He is the founder of Cartoonists across America and the World. The organization, established in 1985, seeks to promote literacy, creativity, the arts and other positive issues. For 25 years they have spread their influence by creating classic books, painting murals, speaking at schools, conventions, conferences and other public events around the world. Phil Yeh will be sharing his vast experience in the creative world with the audience of Comic Fiesta 2010's Industry Seminar.
Phil Ortiz

Phil Ortiz is an Emmy-winning animator and artist notable for his work on a number of quality animations such as The Simpsons, Muppet Babies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield and many more. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Phil Ortiz has worked on a great number of works ranging from daily newspaper comics to animated cartoons. Among the companies that have made use of his skill include Disney, Warner Bros., Ruby Spears Production and Hanna Barbera. In his career, he has won a total of 5 Emmy Awards for his work on TV animation.
In Comic Fiesta 2010, Phil Ortiz will be talking about his experience in the industry, and lucky attendees might just be able to catch him "Simpsons-izing" the people of the event!
